In the name of what we don't know/ Space vacation.

In The Name Of What We Don't Know/ Space Vacation is a mutant constellation of objects that embody the collision of cultural time and space. The artifacts manifest an overlapping of multiple and contradictory factors; I utilize aspects from an amalgam of historical, artistic and cultural narratives. My work adopts these referents as materials and forgoes their myths. This is meant to open up a possibility of utopia; a sense of a world freed from its repressive histories.
The spaces that emerge embrace the fragmentation of contemporary identity through an articulated complexity of subtleties and abstracted references. The exhibition space becomes a mutant visual composition, its dynamics direct the eye and the movement into relationships of form, color, texture and dimension that enable a shifting experience.
I choreograph the aesthetization of the art-object; the artifact is both its advertisement - its light, its own sign for itself - as well as the presentation of its formal structure that is both its ‘costume’ and ‘makeup’ plus its interpretation, display or performance on stage – that is, on the exhibition space. An alternative reality where the remnants of the past and the prophecies of possible futures converge and interact.
